Recognize Your Volunteer's Dedication

Unit, District and Council Recognition:

This is your chance to express your sincere gratitude to all those volunteer leaders who have gone above and beyond to make the Scouting program a success in 2014.

Please have all your nominations to your District Executive by 1/15/2015.

JTE is the BSA's performance recognition program designed to encourage and reward success and measure the performance of our units, districts, and councils. What's your score?

The training awards and keys are designed to recognize unit Scouters for tenure, training, and performance in their leadership roles. Progress record forms for these awards can be found at the links below.

Training Awards

Cub Scouting-----> Cubmaster/Den Leader

Boy Scouting-----> Scoutmaster

Varsity Scouting-----> Coach

Venturing-----> Advisor

Quality unit leadership is one of the strongest contributors to youth retention. When young people are engaged in Scouting for at least five years, the BSA's influence will stay with them for the rest of their lives.The Unit Leader  Award of Merit recognizes those unit leaders with thetraining, dedication and organizational skills to provide excellence in programming and retention.

The District Committee Training Award and Key are designed to recognize Scouters at the district level for tenure, basic and continuing training, and successful performance in their leadership role.

The District Award of Merit is presented to anyregistered adult   volunteer who has provided outstanding service at the district level. Consideration shall be given to the nominee's position and the corresponding opportunity to render noteworthy service beyond normal expectations in the district.

The Silver Beaver Award is the Boy Scouts of America's council-level distinguished service award.Recipients of this award are registered adult leaders who
have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council.  The Silver Beaver is an award given to those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self-sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service. It is given to those who do not actively seek it.

While most leaders don't do it for the recognition or the knot on their shirt, they do appreciated being thanked for their hard work.

Merit Badge Rally Results!!!

Our Western Colorado Scouts attended two days of class in early November to successfully complete dozens of merit badges. Our newest merit badge, Robotics, seemed to be a hit with the classes filling and all the scouts having a great time building the robotics kit to complete the badge. Great job all scouts and thank you for participating in this annual event!
